Project updates

Thursday, September 10, 2026

The retaining wall is complete.  The contractor will be on site to install the aggregate for the trail section and work on site restoration late the week of 9/7 into the week of 9/14.  The trail will sit unpaved over the winter to ensure we don't have settlement issues once the trail is completed.  The concrete trail section will be completed in the spring of 2027.

The retaining wall portion of the project was completed this week.  The contractor has some grading work to complete and turf establishment before the project wraps up for the season.  The contractor will place the aggregate base for the trail the week of 9/7.  The plan is to let the trail sit unpaved through the fall and winter to allow it to go through a freeze and thaw cycle prior to the concrete paving being place.  This allows the fill material time to settle preventing future issues with the concrete pavement.  There will be a temporary safety fence installed along the retaining wall until the permanent fence can be installed after concrete is placed next spring.
